Dovecot – Liberty Art Fabrics & Fashion Exhibition
In the summer of 2019, Dovecot Gallery celebrated the innovative retailer and design studio, Liberty London. In the first major retrospective to come to Scotland, the exhibition Featured over 100 garments and fabrics spanning 140 years, exploring how textiles brought art into everyday life.
Old School Fabrications designed, built and installed over 30 low level angular plinths with an accompanying modular support system. The design allowed the curators to be creative with the composition of the exhibition including the ability to have variable height positions.
This plinth display system is easy to assemble, comes apart into manageable sections and is easy to store and re-use. We used a material called valcromat, which is a through pigmented panel product, meaning any scuffs or marks could be easily removed for future builds.
