Glasgow International – Tatham and O’Sullivan

Glasgow International
Old School Fabrications were commissioned by artists Tatham and O’Sullivan to produce a desk like sculpture for their solo exhibition at The Modern Institute as part of Glasgow International 2016.
The ’S’ shaped desk was made from a CNC cut plywood sub-structure and clad in curved plywood to create the shape. The desk had to be lightweight and assembled in sections for ease of transportation and storage. The desktop surfaces were spray lacquered to specific colours and the edges were finished with a hardwearing plastic laminate. The artists finished the work by applying their unique painted aesthetic to the lower part of the desk.
