One of Scotland's most established business park communities, Edinburgh Park is framed by the neighbouring hills, encouraging an active and healthy lifestyle.
In collaboration with design agency Four-By-Two, we designed, built, and installed a series of bespoke Corten steel wayfinding and signage, taking inspiration from both the contemporary architecture and natural elements that surround Edinburgh Park.
Corten steel, known for its distinct and evolving rust-like patina, was originally developed in the 1930s for constructing coal carriages in America. Its weathered orange hue is not only visually striking but also serves a functional purpose. As the outer surface oxidizes upon exposure to moisture, it creates a protective layer that guards the steel against further corrosion, making it a durable and aesthetically pleasing choice for public art installations.
