The Egg Shed is a heritage center and community hub located in the picturesque Ardrishaig Harbour, nestled in the stunning landscape of Argyll & Bute. Old School Fabrications was commissioned to design and build a bespoke, playful centerpiece for this new venue.
Collaborating with the design agency Four-By-Two and guided by community consultation, Old School Fabrications took the initial concept and brought it to life through detailed construction design, precision fabrication, and seamless installation.
The result is a striking sculptural egg, crafted from CNC-cut white-laminated birch plywood. Each meticulously designed piece interlocks to form the iconic egg shape. Inside, an ash bench offers a cozy seating area where visitors can immerse themselves in the rich stories of Mid-Argyll's history, delivered through discreetly integrated speakers. This unique centerpiece blends creativity and functionality, enhancing the visitor experience at the Egg Shed.
