Established in 1681, The Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh is a medical institution situated on Edinburgh’s Queen Street. Following major internal renovations, the Royal College of Physicians wanted to create an exhibition space, showcasing items from their extensive heritage collection. Working with the design agency Studio SP, we carried out the construction design, build and installation of a series of large scale, permanent exhibition showcases.
Each item incorporated precision steel framework, specialist hinges, complex engineered components and laminated security glass. The furniture was then clad in a combination of solid and veneered oak and completed with changeable graphic interpretation.
This new exhibition space allows visitors to access the College and enjoy a rolling program of thematic exhibitions for free.
