In celebration of the world renowned Ryder Cup golf tournament, Christopher Palmer Landscape Architects and Perth & Kinross Council, commissioned the fabrication and installation of a public artwork, consisting of 6 giant golf clubs. Reaching 7.5 metres in height, the sculpture was installed on a new roundabout situated at the edge of Gleneagles village.
The golf club heads were cast from Jesmonite in a variety of pigments. Jesmonite is a glass reinforced concrete which we cast using specially crafted rubber moulds. Galvanised metal shafts were then secured into the golf club heads, and lifted into upright positions.
Working to a short timescale, we successfully managed the entire project, from engineering, construction designs, foundations, fabrication, transportation and installation.
